We are all hoping for some good weather this Summer and we all love playing in the good weather, but please remember the dangers of not protecting yourself against the suns harmful UV Rays. We have all done it and continued to play throughout the day not protecting ourselves. Remember - Sun Hats, Suncream and Shade if available.

England Retain Home Nations Title
This year the Home Nations Championship was hosted by the WPA on the weekend of 15th and 16th August 2009, the venue was the Premier Inn, Swansea North who very kindly provided the playing area.
This was the first time that an important competition was held outside the normal geographic playing area and was an important step in raising the profile of the sport in Wales.
After two intensive days of competitive play the final results were:
England - 58 Wins Wales- 53 Wins Scotland - 33 Wins
The club would like to congratulate Jim, Bill and Mike. Well Done Guys.

Brecon RFC Petanque Club Open Pairs
Winners - Ian Bailey & Peter Westall
Last weekend saw the annual Brecon RFC PC Open Pairs competition. The day was well attended with 29 teams entering. The long day saw the partnership of Ian Bailey and Peter Westall take the title of Brecon Open Pairs Champions and Mike Charles and Joanie Roberts take runners up. The plate competition saw Jake and his partner win a close game. The third place playoff saw the partnership of Tom Jones and Mark Page beat Jane and Paul Jones in a all Brecon Final.
